Maydan Feedlot

Maydan Feedlot is located on Bundjalung country, near Warwick in Queensland’s Southern Downs region. This feedlot is owned and operated by Gina Rinehart’s Hancock Agriculture. Maydan feedlot has one of the highest days on feed for cows in Australia, with the average time that cows will remain on the feedlot being just over 500 days – around 18 months. There are shade structures for the cows, however, they are not sufficient to provide shelter for all of the cows at once. On the day the footage was taken, several bodies of water appeared to be affected by algal blooms and/or pollution.
