Melbrig Feedlot

Melbrig Feedlot is located on Barunggam country in the North Burnet region of Queensland. The feedlot is currently in the process of expanding to a licensed capacity of 10,000 cows. The feedlot does not offer any shade or shelter for the cows. On the day that the footage was taken, we observed what appeared to be a carcass on fire in the compost pit, along with several decomposing carcasses uncovered near the compost pile. There were also a large number of scattered bones. This feedlot is located 1.5 km from Auburn River, and part of the property is mapped as a flood hazard area.
