Yambinya Feedlot

Yambinya Feedlot is located on Wemba Wemba country near Deniliquin in New South Wales. This feedlot was acquired by JBS, the world’s largest meat company in 2009, and has the capacity for 45,000 lambs and 12,000 cows. When we visited the site, it was only being utilised for cows. JBS sell beef from this feedlot under the brand name ‘Portoro’, a Certified Natural  claim  that has no HGP, no GMO and no antibiotics. When we visited the feedlot, we noticed filthy water troughs, a fire on one of the compost piles, a decomposing carcass and pens without any shade.
