Canning Downs Feedlot

Canning Downs Feedlot is owned and operated by Elbow Valley Beef, and is located on Bundjalung country, near Killarney in Queensland’s Southern Downs. The feedlot is in the process of expanding and moving to a full shed system, however, at the time of footage, there were a large number of cows in unshaded pens. Canning Downs is located 1.2 km from the Condamine River, and part of the property is mapped as a flood hazard area. The feedlot concentrates on high-end Wagyu beef for the export market, with brand names such as ‘Sir Harry’.
