Pinegrove Feedlot

Pinegrove Feedlot is located on Barunggam country in the Toowoomba region of Queensland. This feedlot is owned and operated by Mort & Co, who also operate Grassdale Feedlot. This feedlot has a current capacity of around 9,700, but is licensed to double in size to 21,000. Most of the pens at Pinegrove house Black Angus cows, who are fed for a minimum of 365 days. On the day that we visited the feedlot, there appeared to be a lot of green algal water surrounding the effluent ponds, and a carcass being predated upon by wildlife. There was also a large pile of rubbish in the woodlands near the feedlot.
