Smithfield Feedlot

Smithfield Feedlot is located on Wakka Wakka country near Proston in the South Burnett region of Queensland. This feedlot is owned and operated by Smithfield Cattle Co, who also own Sapphire Feedlot, which is also featured on this website. This large feedlot is located only 680 metres from Stuart River, and parts of the property are mapped as flood hazard areas. On the day that footage was taken, we observed a fire burning on a small compost pile, along with what appeared to be large areas of burnt dirt on other compost piles.
