Victoria Hill Feedlot is located on Bundjalung country near Clifton in the Southern Downs of Queensland. This is the largest lamb feedlot in Queensland, and the construction of the feedlot was partially funded by the state government through a Rural Economic Development (RED) Grant in 2020. The feedlot does not provide shade or shelter for the lambs, who typically stay here for 6 to 8 weeks. On the day we visited, we observed dead lambs laying in or near the feedlot pens, rough handling of lambs including being hit with poles, lambs piled on top of each other in a race and a large pile of dumped rubbish in the paddock.
